Dilbert, one of America’s most beloved cartoons will not be seen in the Washington Post and other newspapers from now on. The reason being? The creator of the cartoon recently made some very controversial claims which have angered a lot of people in America and around the world. Scott Adams, credited with creating the cartoon, referenced a study that labeled the black community as racist. NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recently gave his two cents on the whole issue.

In a recent write-up on his blog, the former NBA champion bashed Adams for his ill-informed take. Calling his claim ‘absurd’, the Los Angeles Lakers legend delved into Adams’ comments while also giving his own opinion.

Dilbert is one of the most famous cartoon characters in the world. It was first launched in April 1989 and instantly became a hit with the common folks of the country. Scott Adams, the creator, has been credited with multiple awards for his evergreen cartoon character.

However, his recent comments have turned him into a public enemy. Adams recently referenced an outrageous study that claimed that a majority of the Black community agreed with the statement, ‘it’s OK to be white’.

Abdul-Jabbar certainly did not like Adams’ recent claims. While talking about his claim, the Lakers legend also delved into the complicated history behind the word ‘racist’.

Bashing Adams, who is worth $75 million, Kareem wrote, “this famous person used his platform to spew his ill-informed, knee-jerk, b**t-hurt reactions without any critical thinking. As a result, The Washington Post, Cleveland?s?Plain Dealer,?and other papers have announced they would no longer run?Dilbert cartoons.”

Moreover, he brought forth an interesting analogy that connected Kanye West and Scott Adams. Similar to Adams, West had some shocking claims which invited a lot of backlash and criticism. Abdul-Jabbar also bashed the former billionaire for his claims.

Kareem came to the defense of a popular actress who suffered racial attacks

In the same write-up, the five-time NBA champion also addressed the Halle Berry situation. The Oscar-winning actress is being casted as Ariel, the popular cartoon character. Following this announcement, she received a lot of hate. A lot of fans resorted to racial abuse owing to the fact that Ariel is white.

Abdul-Jabbar wrote, “Though they may try to disguise it with fan-talk, they are really saying that they are unable to imagine fabrics other than their slobber-soaked comfort blankie.” The highly anticipated film is set to release on the 26th of March and there is already a lot of buzz surrounding the movie.
