It is that time of the year again as the NBA trade deadline is just five days away, and this is when all the rumors start to come true. With numerous takes of various players wanting to land in different teams, Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving made news today by dropping a bombshell on his team. Kyrie Irving reportedly has asked for a trade to leave the Nets, according to NBA analyst Shams Charania. NBA buffs and teams are curious about where the NBA champion will go next. 

Amid different teams aiming for the Brooklyn guard, NBA legend Magic Johnson’s recent tweet on Irving has caught the attention of the fans online.

Magic Johnson, after finishing his legendary career with the Los Angeles Lakers, joined the team as a coach. Later, he was promoted to the role of President of basketball operations by the team. Suddenly in 2019, Johnson stepped down due to various reasons. Though he is not with the organization, Johnson still has a lot of influence on the team.

Johnson’s recent tweet after Kyrie Irving requested a trade, is going viral on Twitter. Johnson tweeted, “Personally, I’d love to see Kyrie in the purple and gold.”, increasing the curiosity among Lakers fans, who begged the icon to help his former team one last time and bring Irving to LA.

Lakers fans seem to be pleading for the reunion of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. The Lakers are in desperate need of an addition who can turn their season around. Fans believe it might be Irving if the Lakers trade for him. James and Irving, along with Anthony Davis, seem like a deadly combination on the hardwood.

The Lakers will likely have strong competition for Irving 

Considering the skills, performance, and experience of the 6’2″ guard, there is no doubt a lot of teams will target him. The Dallas Mavericks are committed to building a roster around their main star Luka Doncic, although they reportedly have not made any moves yet.
