The Los Angeles Lakers started the season on an ultimate high. Signing future Hall of Famers, they were one of the favorites to win it all. However, it turned out to be a season of doom. Missing the playoffs, LeBron James and co failed miserably. And it seems they haven’t learned their lesson.

The purple and gold made some controversial moves at the beginning of the season. Their first one came with Russell Westbrook’s trade coming in. That went south with Brodie struggling to produce his expected outcomes.

In addition, having the highest average age in the league did not help their case either. Now, the reports are going towards another turnaround.

According to the recent reports, the Lakers are looking to ship Kendrick Nunn and Talen Horton-Tucker in trades this off season.

Lakers not learning?

LeBron James and company had a below-par season. Despite some stellar performances by the King, they weren’t at their best in any way. The main reason was their incorrect roster construction. The Lake show had no youth in their lineup. And this slowed down their game. Now, they are on course to repeat the same mistakes.

Fans were left confused over the recent reports. The Lakers are willing to put up THT and Kendrick Nunn on the market for trades. Likewise, fans feel not much will come in return due to their performances. But that may not be the entire story.

The past season made it clear that the Lakers need some young talent on their roster. Hence, giving away two youngsters like THT and Nunn may not be a wise choice. Nunn didn’t play a single game, but he is an elite offensive player. His offensive game is refined and his time with the Heat came as proof. Nunn was putting up 14 points per game while shooting almost 40% from three.

On the other hand, Horton-Tucker is a premier young talent. The Lakers will need those fresh legs in the coming season if they want to make an impact. They might be looking to sell other players such as Russ and other vets who aren’t fitting well in the system.

For now, the purple and gold aren’t in a position to sign a big player. Hence, it is important for them to make the best with the right resources. What do you think of the Lakers’ ideas? Let us know in the comments below.
