Shaquille O’Neal is one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. In his 19 years long NBA career, Shaq dominated his opponents and won the NBA championship four times. The former Lakers legend stood over most of the players and used his physical presence to take control of the paint.

He was known for his dunking ability, something which seems to have passed on to his son Shareef O’Neal.

Like Father, Like Son – Shaquille and Shareef

Shareef O’Neal currently plays for Louisiana State University and is considered to be the polar opposite of his father. He plays as a power forward. At 6’10, he seems more athletic and faster in his movement in comparison to Shaq.

His game is very different as he has more shooting range. Shaq used to play offensively in lesser frequencies because he played as a center, whereas Shareef is a typical forward. Despite the differences in their gameplay, the father-son duo does have one thing in common. That is the way they both dunk. Shaq knows it too.

Shaq’s Dunk

The diesel had a signature dunk style which became very popular and very quickly became his calling card. He used to dominate on the court with his massive build, strength, and great agility bullying off players. The dunk was Shaq’s trademark, as he used to insult the player he dunked on by putting them on a poster.

Shareef is already getting some recognition. He might just be ready to play in the NBA soon. He, at 22, is an essential part of the LSU basketball team. Shaq will certainly hope he can make it big in the NBA in the future.

Shareef is Shaquille O’Neal’s eldest son and there is certainly some potential in the 22-year-old young man. We will see how he turns up when his time comes. If he makes it big, the pressure and expectations will be high. Because really, just look at the genes!
