Despite all the barriers in their way, whether it has been deliberate player absence or injuries, the Brooklyn Nets have still managed to keep their head above the water. In fact, that’s an understatement of what they have achieved this season. Kyrie Irving hasn’t played a single game this season because of his refusal to abide by the due process during a pandemic. So, Kevin Durant has been leading the team with his monstrous performances.

Now that the Nets have the best record in the Eastern Conference, there has been another hiccup. Not just Kevin Durant, but Irving, who was expected to make his way back as a part-time player for them on road games, have both entered the league’s health and safety protocols.

Hall of Famer Nathaniel Archibald: “I Don’t Watch the Games Anymore Because He Ain’t Playing… Nobody Plays Like Him. Nobody in the World Plays Like This Kid. Kyrie Irving Is Much Better Than Me.”

Will the Brooklyn Nets get past this, too?

Before their matchup against the Orlando Magic, eleven of their players, including Durant, were listed out of the game. This naturally had its consequences, and the Nets lost. This was very embarrassing, considering the Orlando Magic had lost seven straight games before this. In fact, they are the second to last team in the Eastern Conference.

This goes to show that the Nets could be in deep trouble if their players don’t start returning to the roster. However, nothing is more important than getting Durant back. It’s true that Irving’s presence will only give them a boost but one can only hope that the team doesn’t lose too much until they make their way back.
