Flustered Anthony Davis Unsure of Lakers Future After Shock Elimination

In one of the most anti-climactic endings to a season, the Los Angeles Lakers have been eliminated ahead of the 2021-22 playoffs. In spite of 37-year-old LeBron James leading the scoring charts with aplomb, it has been an otherwise forgettable outing. Following the dreaded shock of being knocked out, several rumors have emerged that mainstay Anthony Davis, who has been injured for a large part of the campaign, will be traded out by the franchise.
And now, the 29-year-old has given his honest opinion on the whispers.

Having been hit with multiple injuries this season, Anthony Davis regained full fitness in early 2022. Just as he geared up for his anticipated return, LeBron faced an injury of his own. Yet, the duo got back on court, only for Frank Vogel’s men to soon get knocked out. With everything that has unfolded, is it the end of the road for Davis with his beloved franchise?

Anthony Davis unsure about future with Lakers
Recently, AD was criticized for his prolonged absence this year. An 8-time All-Star, he wasn’t having any of it when people questioned his work ethic. Yet, the reports of his ouster from LeBron James’ side came flowing in.
With James out for the rest of the season, AD will shoulder responsibilities for the games to come. However, whether or not he will be relied on next year, remains to be seen.

In a recent interview, Davis had spoken about not knowing where his future lies. Evidently not too amused, he let loose about his frustrations of the season gone by. At the onset, he vented out his anger at needing to be fit for a longer period of time.
Following this, “I don’t think they’re planning on doing anything [with me],” said the nervous center-forward. “I don’t know, man. F**k, I don’t know.”
