But Barkley and Shaq made sure to stay more in touch with the league by becoming analysts and broadcasters on TV. And it looks like another NBA All-Star is set to make his broadcasting debut.

According to ESPN?s senior writer Marc Spears, Thomas will become a part of the broadcasting team at Overtime Elite.

Isiah Thomas will make his debut in broadcasting on Friday as he will be a part of that night?s telecast. He will follow in the footsteps of two great players turned analysts in Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley.

With his high basketball IQ, it would not be a surprise for him to notice things that miss the naked eye. However, Thomas still hopes to play basketball professionally. In his last stint with the Charlotte Hornets, he averaged 8.4 PPG while coming off the bench.?

Thomas played a total of 10 teams in the NBA during his 11-year career in the league. But the most recognizable time of his career came with the Boston Celtics. Thomas became the league?s leader in fourth-quarter points when he was with Boston.

However, the Celtics traded him to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Kyrie Irving. And he was never able to return to his peak after that. Thomas got riddled with multiple injuries that robbed him of his abilities.

The Sacramento Kings drafted Isaiah Thomas with the final pick in the second round of the 2011 NBA draft. Listed at 5?9, Thomas played bigger than his size. One of the most memorable moments of his time came with the Kings was when he denied a seven-foot-tall JaVale McGee in the post.
