The Los Angeles Lakers indulged in a three-team trade that involved eight players switching jerseys. The most eye-catching move was the Lakers parting ways with All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook. The Lakers sent Westbrook to the Utah Jazz but got D’Angelo Russell in return from the Minnesota Timberwolves. And it looks like the 2016 MVP may be looking at other destinations to play.

According to ESPN’s senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Russell Westbrook has communicated with the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Wizards, and the Miami Heat about possible buyout destinations.

Adding Westbrook to any of the teams would be a huge move going into the second half of the season. The nine-time All-Star may have lost some of his explosiveness from his Oklahoma City Thunder days. But he is still an asset to any team that looks to add him to their roster.

Two-time All-Star Zach LaVine was asked about his views on adding ‘Brodie’ to the Chicago Bulls. To that, LaVine said, “Russ is a future Hall of Famer. I think you can all, you know, respect what he’s done in the league. If he so happens to come on the team, we’ll welcome him with open arms.”

The reporter also asked LaVine whether he had a conversation with fellow All-Star DeMar DeRozan about adding Russell Westbrook to the team. Though LaVine denied any conversation took place between him and DeRozan, he sure is on board with ‘Brodie’ joining the Bulls squad.

What team would benefit the most from Russell Westbrook?

Let’s look at all the teams that Westbrook and his agent have been in contact with. Russell Westbrook would be an immediate boost to the Chicago Bulls if he were to join their roster. The Bulls already have very shallow depth at the point guard position.

With Lonzo Ball still out with an injury, they only have Coby White in reserve. Russell Westbrook could be the starting point guard for the Bulls till the time Ball returns from injury. And after his return, Westbrook could go back to being the team’s sixth man off the bench.

As for the Los Angeles Clippers, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George sure could use some help filling in the shoes of the recently traded John Wall. Both Leonard and George tend to miss out on games due to constant injuries and Westbrook could give the team some stability on the point guard front.

As for the Wizards and Heat, both teams could do wonders with Westbrook. Brodie had already been a part of the Washington Wizards franchise so the team would welcome him gladly. Pairing him up with Bradley Beal along with Kristaps Porzingis would certainly help the team.

Even the Miami Heat could use help on the point guard position as they had been looking to get rid of the aging Kyle Lowry to make a better push come playoff time. Westbrook would be a great addition to the team that already has Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro.
