History repeated itself once again, but for Ja Morant, it was one he didn’t want. The Memphis Grizzlies star is a blockbuster talent, mesmerizing the fans with his athletic feats. However, he has been a troublemaker off the court. It had been only months when he first got in trouble for flashing a firearm in Denver. Now, another video went viral, with Morant holding a firearm. The league was in shock, as Commissioner Adam Silver stated. Days after the incident, Morant broke his silence and issued an official statement.

NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported on the matter. While obviously apologizing, Ja Morant made a vow to his fans to continue getting better.

Ja Morant breaks silence after another video went viral

The NBA was put on notice right after the Instagram live clip went viral. There was Ja Morant, flashing a firearm. The Memphis Grizzlies almost immediately suspended him from all team activities. Even Adam Silver admitted he was dumbfounded at the sight. For days, there had been nothing from Morant, until tonight as he spoke about his mistake.

“I know I?ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me. This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I?m committed to continuing to work on myself.?

When caught for a similar offense back in March, the NBA levied an eight-game suspension on the Grizzlies star. During his absence from the game, he reportedly committed to a counseling program. Now, the punishment is likely to be much more severe.

As Silver appeared on NBA Countdown, he stated the NBA is assuming ‘the worst’.

“Now we’re in the process of investigating it, and we’ll figure out exactly what happened to the best we can. And again, the video is a bit grainy and all that. But I’m assuming the worst, but we’ll figure out exactly what happened there,” said Silver about the incident.

As of now, Morant remains away from the Grizzlies awaiting the verdict of the NBA.
