Over the past few seasons, the Rockets have been a lottery franchise in the NBA. Ever since the exit of their top star, James Harden, things started crumbling. However, in the hopes of making something happen, they signed All-Star guard John Wall. High hopes came with Wall as one of the most explosive guards in the game. But the Rockets never got to see much of his unique gifts. And now they are paying him a whopping $47 million only to become a free agent.

John Wall the hottest NBA free agent?

A once force in the NBA, Wall has not withered away from the national spotlight. After spending his last 2 seasons warming the bench, he got his money. Playing just 40 games as a Rocket, Wall has already earned almost $100 million through his deal. The five-time All-Star showed shades of greatness in his first season. Putting up 20.6 points, and 6.9 assists in 2020, Wall was on a role. And now he is squeezing out the Rockets yet again and becoming a free agent.

With his last year’s contract worth $47 million in play this season, Wall’s scenario with the Rockets hasn’t changed. The former Wizards guard is still not in their plans on the floor. And Wall wants to see some actions. Hence, reports have flowed in suggesting Wall has agreed to a buyout with the Houston Rockets.

Despite not playing a single second, Wall will yet again get a sum of his salary of $47 million. And now, fans will finally get a glimpse of the All-Star. But the problems are still there. Wall was considered the most dynamic guard in the NBA. He even made 5 straight All-Star teams. However, with injuries tormenting him since 2018, Wall can’t come in and become the face.

In addition, teams haven’t seen him play on an NBA floor in the last 2 seasons. Hence, there is no guarantee of him being the same version as Wizards Wall anymore.
