The Boston Celtics have had their fair share of struggles this season. However, they now see themselves as 5th seed in the Eastern Conference. The partnership of Jayson Tatum and Jayley Brown which once looked below par at one point is now clicking in almost every game.

The sudden switch in fortune has raised some fair share of questions about taking the Celtics as seriously as other teams. With a roster that looks decent on paper has pulled off a 10-2 record in the month of February alone. They have had the best defense in the league since December and are looking to add a little more to their squad in terms of offensive capabilities with the likes of Nik Stauskas.

REPORTS: Have The Boston Celtics Decided To Break Their Big Three?

Nik Stauskas recently just made history scoring a combined 100 points in two consecutive games in the NBA G League. This remarkable performance obviously turned some heads.

Boston Celtics on the surge with Nik Stauskas

Boston has seen the potential in Nik Stauskas after his promising performances in the NBA G League. The shooting guard has had impressive performances in his time away from the NBA. He has played for multiple NBA sides over the course of his career but could not particularly establish himself. However, his recent record-breaking win with the Grand Rapids Gold attracted Boston Celtics.

Boston Celtics have signed the Canadian sharpshooter on a 2-year contract as reported by ESPN’s Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski. As per Adrian’s tweet, agents of Nik, Mark Bartelstein, and Andy Shiffman of PrioritySports confirmed the deal to ESPN.

Nik has featured in the NBA on several occasions but has failed to flourish in the league. Since his time in Cleveland Cavaliers in 2019, he had not been featured in the NBA until this season. The Miami Heat picked him on just a 10-day contract and Nik only played 2 games for them. He went back to the Grand Rapids Gold and collected noteworthy performances. In his 14 games for the Rapids this season, he has averaged 26 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists while shooting 51.4% from the field. He has also hit 46.6% from the deep, having attempted 8.4 threes per game.

A lot of the credit for this good run has to be given to his first-year coach, Ime Udoka. He believes that this Celtics side is mentally focused and destined for great things.

“The team has always responded well to being challenged. Even the games we were losing early on, I was always optimistic because the team never stopped fighting, never stopped playing the right way.” said Udoka.
