The Golden State Warriors started the season off hot. With one of the best records in the league, they are still in a great spot. However, things have not been the same since an injury to Draymond Green. Recently, one of the former Warriors said Green holds more importance than Stephen Curry.
Green is one of the premier defenders in the NBA. His contributions lead out to be of huge value to Warriors. As the true leader, he is often commanding the forces. His true importance came to the surface when the Warriors struggled without their commander. Now, Festus Ezeli believes made comments about his former teammate.
"They built a system around him."

He explained how Curry falls below Green on the scale of importance for the Bay.
Stephen Curry not as important as Draymond Green
Recently, Ezeli spoke about his former team, the Golden State Warriors. He made a statement that would take most by shock. Ezeli spoke about how the Warriors have ‘built the system’ around Steph, Klay, and Draymond. He said while Green isn’t the best player, he is certainly the most important, especially this season. This comes because of the way the Warriors have taken things this season.
Ezeli said: “He might not be the best player on the team, but he is the most important. Because this year they are deciding that small ball is the way we gonna go.”
He continued, “When you miss a guy like Draymond, a guy who calls out all the coverages, who sets great screens for Steph and Klay to get open, who is the leader, heart and soul, everything for the team. Of course, you going to miss Draymond. Draymond is the most important key to this team.”

With Green in the lineup, the Warriors were the best defense in the league. As one of the candidates for DPOY, Draymond became the centerpiece. However, his offensive contributions go unnoticed. He is one of the best passers averaging over 7 assists per game. Hence, his absence has really affected them.
But that doesn’t take away from what Stephen Curry gives the team. He has delivered at an MVP level putting up 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists this season. But without Green, his struggles have been clear as day. Curry has dropped in the MVP rankings and is still struggling without his main passing mate. For now, the trio of Wiggins, Klay, and Curry need to hold till Green is back in the office.
