Substance abuse has been a rising issue in our society. Celebrities and athletes often tend to be prone to be the victims of the issue. That is what happened to this former Los Angeles Lakers star and two-time NBA champion, who has now offered to help another celebrity in a similar situation.

In 2015, former Lakers star Lamar Odom was found overdosed at a Nevada brothel and almost lost his life. He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition and almost miraculously recovered from his severe ailments. However, since then, Odom has managed to turn his life around and is now willing to help another person in need.

Lamar Odom was the fourth overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. He played 14 seasons in the league and won two NBA championships playing alongside the late great Kobe Bryant. However, after retiring from the league, Odom fell into substance abuse problems and almost ended up losing his life and family. Since then, the former 6’10 forward has managed to turn his life around by investing in rehabilitation centers for others in need.

Once a man who was on a dark path himself, Odom made it a mission to help victims in similar predicaments. The most recent person he has offered to help, that too free of cost, is skateboarder and TV personality, Bam Margera, who’s known for his role in Jacka**.

Margera recently turned himself in to the Police in Pennsylvania after an alleged physical confrontation with his brother, as per reports. Bam has been in rehabilitation centers in several states, as he suffers from substance abuse and mental health problems as well.

This led Lamar Odom to offer his help to the TV star. While talking to TMZ, Odom said, “If it’s problems with alcohol and drugs, I would want to reach out my hand to him and give him a bed in my facility.”

Odom also advised Margera to build a relationship with Jesus Christ to overcome his struggles.

Lamar Odom, who once dealt with the same issues, now co-owns three wellness centers. These centers help people with substance abuse and drug abuse problems. Margera himself has been dealing with these issues for quite some time now.

While talking to TMZ, Odom told Margera to turn towards religion in his time of need. He also said, “If he wants the help, it’s here for him. I’m reaching out my arms to him.” When asked if Odom had any message for Bam, he said, “I love him and just stay strong.”
