The Brooklyn Nets are having a terrible stretch of games. They have not been playing good basketball since the start of the year and they have been hampered by injures as well. Kevin Durant has been out for was while now and he is not expected to return until the start of March.

The Nets are on a 5 game losing streak right now and they have a losing record at home. They were on top of the Eastern Conference at the start of the year but they have tumbled down to the 6th spot. Even though Kyrie Irving has returned for away games, they just haven’t been able to close out games. James Harden has been in and out of the lineup with injuries and he has struggled with consistency.

The Nets took on the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday as they looked to get back on track. The Kings themselves have lost seven in a row and they are 13th in the West. James Harden and Kyrie Irving were both in the lineup, but De’Aaron Fox missed his sixth straight game in a row. The Nets are desperately looking for a win as the race for the top spot in the East heats up.

Former NBA player, Kendrick Perkins refused to let the Nets off the hook, even though they don’t have KD. He said,  ” They didn’t have chemistry on the defensive side of things. Kyrie wasn’t there. You got to be able to tied on the string. This is something to worry about… it’s not somewhat… It’s a big deal.”

However, Richard Jefferson does not agree with Perkins as he says “I think its silly to talk about the leading scorer in the league sprained his MCL and he’s missed a bunch of time and now his team has struggled… If Kevin Durant is healthy… That’s when start judging… God Bless America,”

The Nets have been close in almost every game in their losing streak, but they just don’t seem to have the same level of chemistry. With Kyrie coming back, it is very hard to integrate a player mid-season, especially on the defensive end. The coaching staff has also received a lot of criticism for their calls. Hopefully, they can get it turned around soon and find some chemistry with the Big 3 when Kevin Durant returns.
