Recently, however, former Warriors guard Tim Legler, who believes MJ is the undisputed GOAT, revealed who he believed was the closest to him. And that name is none other than Kobe.

Tim Legler says Kobe Bryant is the closest to Michael Jordan

Featuring for multiple franchises during his NBA career, 55-year-old Tim Legler played during the Kobe and Jordan years. Interestingly, he has always said that ‘His Airness’ was a class apart, and a touch above the rest.

In a recent interview on ‘The Old Man and the Three’ show, the former 3-point contest winner explained how Jordan never took his foot off the gas, making him the most formidable opposition.

Asked if Bryant was the next best he’d seen after MJ in terms of mindset, Legler paid the late star a massive compliment. “Definitely, 100%,” he affirmed.

“Mindset and skill set. That’s the closest thing. That’s the closest replicate you’ll ever get to Michael Jordan without a doubt. And look, he’ll even admit it; he wanted to be him.” The question is, did he manage to reach Jordan’s level, or even surpass it?
