The Golden State Warriors are going through a tough run in their campaign this season due to the absence of Stephen Curry. Curry has been sidelined since last month following a shoulder subluxation injury. But the defending champions have returned to their winning ways after a series of impressive performances. Meanwhile, the Dubs are not only winning the games on the court but off the court as well. As a Billion Dollar franchise, the Dubs have assumed the responsibility to give back to society. Moreover, they have found a unique way to contribute.

The Warriors star Stephen Curry has missed out on a lot of games due to his shoulder injury. Despite his absence, the Warriors had players who stepped up. Most notably, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Jordan Poole proved their potential in the absence of the chef.

In the first week of 2023, the Warriors played three games and scored 363 points in total. Though they lost two of those games, the Dubs converted them into a ‘Win’ off the court. The Golden State Warriors management along with The Athletes’ Corner, Kaiser Permanente, and Feeding America had promised to convert every point scored by the team in that duration into one hundred meals for the needy and the underserved.

Under the campaign title ‘Swishes for Dishes’, the Dubs and Co have served 36,300 meals to the underprivileged, after the team ended up scoring 363 points.

Curry’s return to the hardwood

In an official update from the Warriors’ management before Christmas, the Dubs confirmed the reevaluation of Curry’s shoulder. Since then there hasn’t been any proper update until Head Coach Steve Kerr confirmed that the Chef has been making progress and could make a return to the court this week. Addressing the Press ahead of the Detroit Pistons game on January 4th, Steve Kerr told, ” He is getting on the court and doing more and more each day so we are hopeful that next week sometime, so we’ll see how it goes.” However, the fans expect Curry to return during Friday night’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.
