The rise of Milwaukee Bucks superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, is one of the best stories in the league. From being a lanky kid to becoming a dominant force in the league, Giannis has come a long way in his career.

Early career of Giannis in the league

The Greek Freak was drafted back in 2013 by the Bucks with their 15th overall pick. When he entered the league, nobody expected him to become the star that he is today. In fact, he didn’t even break the 20ppg mark in the first three years of his career.
Not surprisingly, Giannis didn’t accomplish much during this time span. He was developing gradually and in the first three years of his career, the only accolade he had was being a part of the 2014 NBA All-Rookie second team.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s ascension to stardom

In the 2016-17 season, Giannis started showing his true potential in the league. He made the NBA All-Star team for the first time in his career. Furthermore, he was named as the NBA’s Most Improved Player for his contributions.
Finally, he received tremendous recognition from all around the league as he also made the All-NBA second team this season. He capped off the season while averaging 22.9 points per game.
The Greek Freak continued his form in the next season as he repeated the same level of success this season too.

After continuing his fabulous form for back-to-back seasons, Giannis elevated his game to another level in the 2018-19 season. He bagged in the first ever MVP award of his illustrious career.

Thanks to his contributions in leading the Bucks to the first seed in the Eastern Conference, he was selected for the All-NBA first team as well.
