The Lakers have hired the assistant coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, Darvin Ham. He had been with the Bucks since 2018 and was part of the championship-winning Bucks side last season. Darvin had been a big part of the Bucks assisting Mike Budenholzer. This is going to be his first job fully in charge of a team. Darvin is a proven guy. He is liked and respected and has been around for a while now and has a good understanding of the game. Most importantly he is a guy who is expected to bring out the best from every player.

The Lakers need to improve their roster and bring in more talented players to strengthen the side. It is actually crazy to think that the player who once guarded a 19-year-old LeBron James, is set to coach him in his 20th season.

Apart from that, Ham seems like the right choice if the Lakers let him do what they have hired him to do and that is, control that roster well. He has the personality and skill set to lead a side with superstars. If he can handle the roster and make them play their specific roles, the Lakers can actually flourish the next season.
