Speaking of the partnership, he mentioned a “link to home in Greece and a link to my family roots in Nigeria”. “The Greek Freak” is all set to explore his roots and display the beauty of his heritage and the people of that country.

A native of Greece, Giannis was born to Nigerian immigrants. At the 2013 NBA draft, the Milwaukee Bucks picked him 15th overall in round one. When discussing his partnership with WhatsApp, he talked about his background and where he has come from. Mentioning how the app is easy to use and is a tool that allows people to connect easily. He continued:

“Those who know my story know that I’m Greek and Nigerian: I was raised in Greece, but my roots are Nigerian. Growing up the best way I could connect to my family in Nigeria was through WhatsApp. As humans, we’re a collection of experiences, and learning about where I came from has kept me close to my identity as I continue to evolve as an athlete and person.”
