The Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo just celebrated his 27th birthday. And the amount of love and support that he received and on this special day from the Milwaukee community was absolutely unreal. It didn’t just leave other fans in awe, but Giannis as well, who specially posted a touching appreciating post for the wishes.

At just 27 years of age, Antetokounmpo has achieved so much. From being a two-time back-to-back MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and also an NBA champion, to ending the Bucks’ title drought after 50 years, he has a lot to be proud of. However, his efforts on the court aren’t the only thing that Milwaukee is thankful for.

Coming from a humble background himself, Giannis never forgot to give back to the community. While many NBA legends, and superstar get statues because of their greatness or get roads, named after that, but Milwaukee decided to take a more unique route, and literally. The city decided to name a bus route after him as a gift for his birthday.
Anybody in his would be blessed to have a fan-following like this. So naturally, the superstar took to Instagram to thank his fans for all the gestures and wishes. With pictures of him, he posted in the caption, “Milwaukee, thank you for all the love on my birthday!!!!!! Let’s keep this going.”

The Milwaukee County Transit System named it route 34, which is an homage to his jersey number. While this is very creative, it’s likely that Giannis, whose potential screams more achievements, will probably have streets and statues named after him as well.
However, this love is not one-sided. Despite struggling to even grab an NBA championship for so many years, he did not quit on the Bucks. There were many analysts and fans nudging him to leave and join a team that will improve his chances of adding a title to his resume. But, Antetokounmpo’s love for the people and city kept had him sticking around.
