After struggling for the most part of the initial months of the season, the Dallas Mavericks seem to be back on track. The team has gotten a hang of it and is stringing together multiple winning games lately. And a lot of that credit goes to Mavericks star, Luka Doncic. After coming off a stupendous performance against the New York Knicks, Luka still has enough magic left in his tank as he followed it up with another great performance, compelling fans to chant out MVP in the arena.

Luka Doncic went for a career-high 60 points in their last win against the New York Knicks. He paired that point tally with 21 rebounds and 1o assists as well, notching up a triple-double. And Doncic managed to do it again in the following game against the Knicks as well.

The Dallas Mavericks took down the Houston Rockets 129-114 to push their winning streak to five games. He notched another triple-double scoring 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists, shooting 44.4% from beyond the arc.

And fans made sure to support their star with MVP chants echoing in the arena. Despite taking a hard hit from Rockets Usman Garuba, Doncic was unfazed as he put up another amazing performance.

One fan tweeted, “Giannis can’t do this.” While another fan commented, “Doing what Giannis couldn’t do against the rockets, shooting efficiently and actually winning lmao.”

The number of fan reactions on social media was pretty unilateral as the majority of the fans did agree with him being a strong MVP contender. 

Doncic making his teammates better

The Dallas Mavericks barely had any help for Doncic in the starting lineup. It was a complete Luka show through and through. But since the move of Christian Wood to the starting lineup from the bench, the team has been able to turn things around.

But it has been a strong effort from the Slovenian All-Star to will his team to victory these past few games. Doncic has been able to even out his scoring and find his teammates in the right position for open shots.

And it has finally started to pay off as multiple Mavericks starters have been ending games with double-digit points. The addition of Kemba Walker to the team has given head coach Jason Kidd the ability to move Wood to the starting lineup with Walker leading the team’s second unit.
