The internet relished over a photo of former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal lifting up the then first lady of California, Anne Gust Brown. But all’s well because seemingly, Anne enjoyed the lift. She later posted the photo in her twitter account with the caption that read ‘Shaq gives me a lift!’.

Evidently, there’s no stopping the ‘Hobo Master’. This happened when Shaq bought a minor share of the NBA team, Sacramento Kings, back in 2013. The photo was clicked at a restaurant in midtown Sacramento, where Shaq had a meeting with members of the Kings ownership group.

Two years after retirement, Shaquille O’Neal bought minor shares of Sacramento Kings despite the well-known rivalry between the Kings and Shaq’s former team, Los Angeles Lakers. The former Lakers player had led his team to three consecutive postseason wins over the Kings from 2000-2002. Now, Shaq is looking to be ‘part of something great’.

“What interested me in this deal is the new vision, the new Kings, the new everything. I’ve always wanted to be part of something like this…. It’s going to be great.”?said O’Neal about the team he once called the Sacramento “Queens”.

After becoming the new minor stakeholder of the Kings , O’Neal had to do some damage control. He apologized to the Kings fans at a press conference and said he only did it for marketing purposes.

O?Neal Sells His Kings Shares

Almost a decade after buying the Sacramento Kings shares, Shaquille O’Neal declared on his twitter account that he has sold his minor stakes as per NBA rules.

As per his tweet, the NBA legend had to sell his stakes according to the NBA rules, before starting a new business venture. He went on to thank the fans, the CEO of the Sacramento Kings and the entire organization, and expressed his desire to go back someday. This announcement was made shortly before the Sacramento Kings beat the Los Angeles Lakers by 125-116.

Seven months after selling the Kings shares, Shaq announced his partnership with WynnBet, a legal online sports betting app by Wynn Resorts. Shaq joined the company as an advisor and the new brand ambassador.
