The GOAT debate is one of the most raging topics in the basketball world right now. Each fan, player, legend, and media personnel have their own choice and their own their unique reasoning and it seems like a never-ending debate. And now a former NFL legend who is a lifelong LeBron fan gives his take on why LeBron James is the GOAT.

Shannon Sharpe is an NFL legend who won multiple Super Bowls and is currently a sports analyst with his own show. Sharpe gave his take on why Michael Jordan is not the GOAT. He addressed the comparisons between LeBron’s current Lakers to Michael Jordan’s Wizards. He says that Michael Jordan was not even close to making an All-NBA team with the Wizards.

Sharpe also said that LeBron James will be a First team or Second team All NBA no matter where his team finishes in the league.

Sharpe blows the GOAT debate wide open as LeBron James destroys the league while Michael Jordan gets mocked for his Wizards run

Shanon was furious with the comparison. He said, “In his last 2 years, was MJ a Top 10 player? No. No matter what you think of him, no matter what you think of LeBron James, do you believe currently he is a top-10 player? I believe you do. No question about that.”

He also says LeBron James is redefining what it means to be in the latter end of your career and still be productive. LeBron has been absolutely balling this season. Even though his team is not where it should be, he has had another MVP-level campaign. He is having one of his best scoring years in year 19.

No player in the history of the game has done what LeBron is doing. And no player has been at the top of the league for such a long time. LeBron James is redefining what it means to be an all-time great. He may not be doing it in a way acceptable to everyone. But he is doing it in his own way.
