The Miami Heat have shocked the entire NBA world this postseason as they now prepare for the Eastern Conference Finals. Jimmy Butler has been key for his team as they look to replicate their 2020 feat by making it to the NBA Finals once again. Out of all of his Heat teammates, Butler shares a very special connection with NBA veteran Kyle Lowry. The 2019 NBA champion joined the Heat in 2021 and instantly struck a connection with his new teammate at South Beach.

Recently, a shirtless Butler entered the press conference after beating the New York Knicks in the semi-finals. What Lowry said to Butler next during the press conference won over the NBA fans on the Internet.

Kyle Lowry roasts Jimmy Butler in epic fashion

Jimmy Butler and the 2019 NBA champion Kyle Lowry are not just teammates. In fact, Lowry is the godfather of Rylee Butler, the four-year daughter of Jimmy Butler. Incidentally, she was born in 2019, the same year Lowry led the Toronto Raptors to an iconic NBA title win.

“He’s one of my absolute best friends. He’s the godfather of my daughter,” said Butler when asked about his relationship with the 6-time NBA All-Star.

Following Heat’s impressive game 6 win over the Knicks, Lowry and Butler were back at it again. During the press conference, Jimmy Buckets faced the media shirtless. 

Sitting beside a shirtless Butler, Lowry said, “I would take my shirt off too, but I don’t wanna embarrass him.” This drew a burst of laughter from the media personnel present to question the two Heat stars. 

Butler and Lowry were both instrumental in the Heat’s 96-92 win over the New York Knicks. Lowry scored 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 9 assists coming off the bench. On the other hand, Jimmy Butler, who recently achieved a major franchise record, lead the scoring with 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists.
