Even during his injury rehab, the 3x NBA Champion used all the right ways to keep his fans guessing. But this time around, he has done it with his choice of accessories. Yes, the golden boy of the Dubs nation recently took to practice and stunned everyone with a new look. And no, this isn’t about a fake Klay that entered the Oracle Arena.

The 31-YO Klay Thompson is still recovering from his torn right Achilles tendon that he suffered while practicing in South California. The 5x All-Star recently went for a training session from where he posted a picture. 

With Klay taking a corner attempt, the caption read, “We goin full Jackie moon this year”. The star shooting guard was referring to his yellow headband, which matched with a movie character’s look.

In 2008, actor Will Ferrell did a movie named Semi-Pro, wherein he played the hysterical character of Jackie Moon. Klay absolutely loved the flick and fell in love with Jackie’s trademark headband. He promoted that love by jumping into the funny attire as many times as he could.

When The Electrician used Jackie Moon to his advantage

In October 2018, the Warriors defeated the Bulls 149-124 in a night filled with daggers. That night, Klay showed up in his Jackie Moon avatar and sent fire through the roof. The star shooting guard dropped 14 three-pointers and broke his fellow mate Steph Curry’s record of 13 threes in a game. 

In Klay’s own words, “I looked like Jackie Moon out there. I was feeling good. He’s one of my favorite characters in all of sports movies. That’s probably why I broke the record.”

That night, Klay dropped 52 points in mere 27 minutes as he did not even play the fourth quarter. Now, if his latest post means a yellow headband for the entire upcoming season, his rivals must know what’s coming.
