This does come as a surprise as the Bay has no shortage of role players in their squad. With a strong bench comprising players such as Damian Lee and Jordan Poole, they have great rotations. Moreover, their rookies Kuminga and Moody made a name for themselves in the Summer League as well.

Collison had an underrated second half of his career. Out of the 10 seasons he played in the NBA, the last 5 years were his best. He shot over 40% from downtown from 2015 to 2019- something that no doubt attracted the Warriors front office. In addition, Collison is a great ball-handler and can make plays well.
However, he has not been a part of the NBA family for a while and is now 34 years old. Hence, there is no guarantee that he is in NBA shape.

He came into the league in 2008 as the 21st overall pick in the draft. In his rookie season with the New Orleans Hornets, he had a great season, averaging 12 points and almost 6 assists. This made him earn the honors of All-Rookie first team.
He played in the NBA for 10 years, suiting up for 5 different organizations. Collison had his best year with Sacramento where he averaged 16 points and 5 assists. He retired in 2019 to focus on his family. Notably, there were reports that he may join the Lakers, but that did not go through.

Hence, nothing can be said for sure on his return. Being out of the game for 2 whole years, getting back in shape is a tough job. Another big factor is also his age. Do you think the Warriors should sign Collison?
