NBA legend Charles Barkley has been passionate about golf for years. The Hall of Famer started playing the sport early in his basketball career and continues to do so. Notably, he played alongside Michael Jordan a lot when they were close friends. The six-time NBA champion is also very passionate about the sport. Furthermore, Barkley has participated in many celebrity golf tournaments over the years. However, nothing compares to the difficulty of the prestigious Black Masters.

The Black Masters has been a tradition of the Inside The NBA crew where several members go against each other on the golf course. And this year’s tournament arguably lived up to its hilarious nature.

Charles Barkley vouches to come back stronger

NBA on TNT’s Inside The NBA is one of the most loved TV shows about basketball in the world. However, the show is not just about basketball. Fans love the hilarious antics of co-hosts Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson. Among them, Barkley and Johnson have been a part of the hilarious Black Masters for years now. Also, some members of the production crew have joined them as well. The pranks between the stars grow double-fold when they are competing with each other.

After the intense game-2 between Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, Ernie talked about the tournament during EJ’s Neat-o Stat of the Night segment. He joked that it is hard when there are two major golf tournaments within a week as he compared the crew’s game with the recent PGA Championship. Smith and Shaq had no clue what he was talking about.

Ernie then presented the fans with the footage of this year’s tournament. Notably, last year’s Black Masters winner was Eric Johnson who is none other than Ernie’s son. He was focused on retaining his title and did not give an inch to his opponents. Finally, Eric retained his title which was his third so far much to the disappointment of Barkley. While talking about the loss, the 1993 NBA MVP said, “It’s disappointing, humiliating”.

After the video clip was over, Barkley hilariously apologized to the fans. He stated, “Black America, I let y’all down. I’m coming back stronger next year. Underdog, we are gonna come back next year. But I just wanna apologize to Black America for letting y’all down.”

The crew was in splits hearing this. Ernie then rubbed it in by praising his son.
