The legend opted out of the Masters due to a foot injury that caused him discomfort. Talking about the issue, Charles Barkley had only one request in mind. He hoped to see the legend back on the ground in the same tournament for a specific reason.

Barkley said, “Well I saw that but I hope he plays the Masters. First of all, I hope he plays the senior tour. He’s the greatest golfer ever and anytime he plays is great for the game.” Just a week prior to the commencement of the game, Woods had hinted that this might be his final Masters appearance.

However, despite his plea, the Chuckster seemed realistic about his expectations from Woods. “It’s gonna be difficult for him to win against those young kids,” he added.

Interestingly, Sir Charles also revealed that he once had the opportunity to play in the Masters. Being the golf fanatic he is, Chuck grabbed the opportunity with both hands and had the experience of a lifetime. However, Ernie Johnson corrected Barkley, pointing out that he had played the Augusta Nationals, not the Masters.

Barkley had defended his ‘GOAT’ despite criticism from all round

A few weeks ago, Tiger Woods found himself to be a part of a major controversy. During one of the plays in the Genesis Open, Woods gave Justin Thomas a tampon as a joke. However, he faced flak from all around which urged Barkley to speak up.

While asserting that Woods is the GOAT, the NBA Hall of Famer also criticized the people who had forced Woods to apologize. Moreover, he also asserted that people overreacted to the whole situation.
