“Good Thing He’s Not a General Manager”: Raptors Star’s “Delusional” Kevin Durant Admission Leaves NBA Twitter in Disbelief

The Toronto Raptors could have had a two-time NBA champion in their line-up. In fact, they were reportedly in talks as well. But the management didn’t go forward with it. And now, even one of their players has re-affirmed their decision not to go through with it. Who is the person they seemingly rejected? Kevin Durant. After a disappointing season last year coupled with off-court issues, Durant made a trade request to the Brooklyn Nets front office. The Raptors were the-runners to land the former MVP, however, things didn’t work out.
In the latest episode of ‘How Hungry are you?’, the Toronto Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet joined host Serge Ibaka. His telling statements have been rebuked by the fans.

Fans troll Fred VanVleet
Fred VanVleet said that he would not be willing to trade Barnes for Durant. “I wouldn’t do it. I told you, I am a loyal guy, man,” he stated. Fans trolled VanVleet for his comments and one even called him “delusional.” Others said that it was indeed a good thing that VanVleet was not a general manager.

Man stop lying. Comparing a overrated 2nd year player to a top 3 player in the league is disrespectful.

Kevin Durant has been a superstar in the league for years now. He is arguably one of the best small forward of all time. His scoring sprees have surpassed that of Michael Jordan. Undoubtedly, he is one of the best scorers. KD already has three scoring titles to his name, and will easily bag a fourth. He still can turn a team into a contender. So, many fans were amused that Fred VanVleet would turn down that offer.

Furthermore, the sophomore’s relatively young age could be seen as an advantage as well. However, he has been listed as questionable after a left knee sprain.
Reports claim that the deal never happened because the Raptors were unwilling to trade Scottie Barnes. It was clear that Barnes has cemented his position with the franchise, that even Durant couldn’t budge.
