The Lakers came into town with a slight upturn in their fortunes. After starting the season 2-10, the Lakers were able to win three in a row and looked to build on their streak. They came very close as they had the lead at the half. But the Suns managed to pull away in the second half and they held on despite a late-game onslaught from the Lakers.

However, the game was stopped in the fourth quarter as there was an altercation between the two teams. With less than four minutes to go, Austin Reaves drove into the lane and tried to take a shot. He was blocked by Devin Booker but he was called for a foul. Just then, DeAndre Ayton came and stood over Reaves and taunted him.

This irked Patrick Beverley, who came and shoved Ayton from the back. Ayton went tumbling down and players started getting into it. They had to be separated, and the refs took a look at the entire sequence. They further ejected Beverley for his actions and gave Ayton a technical foul. Booker was also hit with a flagrant one.

NBA Fans are livid with Lakers Beverley after he pushed another Suns player

The fans were furious with Beverley, given the fact this was the second time he had done this. Back in the 2021 Western Conference Finals, he did the same thing to Chris Paul. Beverley pushed Paul after the Suns’ star had turned his back. He was also ejected after that.

Although, in spite of his best efforts, the Lakers were unable to follow it up with a victory. The Suns pulled away in the fourth quarter and the Lakers just could not make any inroads into their lead. But they will be happy with his performance and hope that he continues to lead from the front.
