“Greatest Point Guard Ever”: Shaquille O’Neal Betrays Lakers Nation by Snubbing Magic Johnson in Years Old Debate

The NBA playoffs have taken fans on a wild ride already. The Golden State Warriors have defeated the Sacramento Kings in a series of seven games. Stephen Curry led the Warriors to a clutch victory in the seventh game of the series, scoring a massive fifty points. With his fifty-point performance in game 7, he also broke the record for most points scored in game 7 in any series. His performance made the great Shaquille O’Neal make a controversial statement.

After the Golden State Warriors lost the first two games of the series, Stephen Curry led his team to a miraculous comeback by giving consecutive 30-point performances. Almost every basketball supporter and analyst was in awe of the three-point god.

Shaquille O’Neal makes a bold claim

The hosts of the show NBA on TNT, including Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal, were quite impressed by Steph’s performance against Sacramento. This even led Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal to regard Stephen Curry as “the greatest point guard ever”.

Shaq’s claim will surely not go down well with the Lakers nation, especially the Diesel being one of the greatest Lakers ever. For many years, there has been a debate going on regarding who’s the greatest point guard ever. Magic Johnson or Stephen Curry?

The Lakers fans for obvious reasons side with Magic, as he won five titles with them and led the famed Showtime Lakers. This debate has divided the basketball world several times in the past. Many would expect the Big Diesel to side with Magic as a former Laker.

But after Stephen Curry scored fifty points in game 7, Shaq made the bold claim of Curry being the better point guard. The Los Angeles Lakers supporters will not be pleased that the Hall of Famer chose Steph over Magic in the PG debate. However, NBA fans know very well how big of a Chef Curry fan Shaq is.

In fact, Shaq once called himself the ‘Black Steph Curry’, after which he was reminded by his friend Kenny Smith that Curry is Black too. However, Shaq still likes to call himself the ‘Black Steph Curry’ after shooting jumpers.
