Wilt Chamberlain is considered one of the most dominant centers in NBA history and held the record for the highest triple-doubles by a center. A few weeks back, Nikola Jokic equaled Wilt Chamberlain’s record of most triple-doubles by a center with 78 such games. And today, the NBA world went berserk to hear the news that Jokic surpassed Chamberlain. On Thursday night, the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic broke the record against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Nuggets and the Thunder came face to face in the Paycome Centre stadium. Aaron Gordan and Jamal Murray played vital roles in the Nuggets’ win. But the night was made special thanks to Jokic, who scored 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists.

Notably, Russell Westbrook sits at the top of the overall charts of the most triple-doubles in NBA history, tied with Oscar Robertson at 181.

Nikola Jokic came to the league as a second-round draft pick by the Denver Nuggets. What’s more, perhaps no one could have imagined that one day he’ll surpass the all-time great Wilt Chamberlian. With a towering height of 6’11”, he is undoubtedly one of the best big men in the game right now.

The two-time reigning MVP has been performing impressively in the season for his team. The Nuggets have won five games out of eight games they played so far.  In seven games, Jokic has averaged 21 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 8.4 assists. These stats are evident that the Serbian giant is here to make a statement and clearly his game reflects why he is one of the best in the league.
