In an interview, former basketball player Dwyane Wade addressed several aspects of his life, including his relationship with ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches. He also discussed the ups and downs of his relationship with his current wife, actress Gabrielle Union.

In recent years, he has been very vocal about the life he had with his ex-wife, his children, and his current relationship with Union. It was back in 2002 that he married his high school sweetheart Funches.

The couple welcomed two children named Zaire and Zaya into the world. While sharing several aspects of his life, the Miami Heat legend spoke about fathering a child with another woman while being committed to a Hollywood star.

After being married for several years, Wade and Funches decided to separate. Afterward, there was a long and difficult divorce finalization process that both parties went through. Subsequently, it was Dwyane Wade who got full custody of his children.

During this time, Wade started dating Union. However, after some time, they decided to take a break because of some issues. As Wade began dating actress Aja Metoyer during this break, she became pregnant with Wade’s baby named Xavier. Wade and Union had many ups and downs over the years but were eventually married after resolving everything.

Wade explained his situation in a conversation about this. He mentioned how difficult it was for him to reveal to Union that he has a child during that time. “I had a child with someone else and I had to tell her. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do is man up and tell Gabrielle Union that I’ve had a child with somebody else,” said Wade.

“Me and Gab just went through something that you never want to go through and we still came out of it. Not that it was easy, and that was another moment that showed me life could be different.”

Having married each other in 2014, Wade and Union have been living a happy life together since. Lastly, the couple welcomed their daughter Kaavia via surrogacy in November 2018.
