The Charlotte Hornets have not been able to rise the ladder this season. With an 11-29 record, the Hornets are second last in the Eastern Conference. However, teams are showing interest in one of their players, specifically Kelly Oubre Jr., and fans are perplexed as to why other teams might want him on their roster. Despite Oubre undergoing surgery for his hand, teams are still lurking to add him to their roster.
Kelly Oubre Jr. has come under scrutiny for being a stat padder. Even though Oubre has been playing the best basketball of his career so far, many NBA fans are still reluctant over the value he might add to other teams.

Kelly Oubre Jr. has been averaging his highest point per game so far. Although, that hasn’t been able to translate into much as Michael Jordan’s Hornets are still struggling to win games and make noise in the East. So, unless the Hornets get something in return, there is no point in trading for one of their leading scorers.
Fans on the other hand are wondering why teams are displaying interest in Oubre as he seems to be more inclined on improving his stats rather than helping teams win.

Let’s have a look at the teams that have displayed interest in trading for Kelly Oubre Jr. Three teams are the front runners to trade for the Kansas State product. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, and the Toronto Raptors.
The Suns let go of Oubre earlier when he was with the team. But he will surely be able to provide more offense for the team in place of Mikal Bridges, the current starting forward for the team.

As for the Cleveland Cavaliers, this trade will surely give them an upgrade over Caris LeVert. But bringing Oubre over means that it will take the ball out of the hands of Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. And that might jeopardize the duo’s chemistry.
The Toronto Raptors on the other hand might benefit the most if the trade goes through. But will the Raptors be willing to move Scottie Barnes to the bench? What team will gain the most if this trade goes through? Let us know what you think in the comments section down below.
