It has what one expects to see: dragons, bloody conflict, political backstabbing, graphic s*x, cool costumes, and creepy family relationships. But it delivers all that in a predictable and unenthusiastic package. The villain is one-dimensional.”

“The political shenanigans are familiar. What’s missing is the audience caring about what happens because we have no stakes in the outcome, no attachment to the characters. It’s only the first episode, but they would have been better served to make the first one longer to give us characters whose fates we cared about. I’d give it a B, so far.”

His take will surely anger some of the fans who have raved about the series. The series is a prequel to the iconic, Game of Thrones series, which captivated millions of fans around the world. The show broke several records and the last season of the show was one of the highest watched around the world.
