The controversy surrounding the Memphis Grizzlies superstar seems to be burgeoning with every passing day. Amid various other allegations and controversies, he took the NBA world by storm after flashing a gun shirtless on his Instagram live. After days of significant backlash from former NBA players and talking heads, it looked like the controversy was finally dying down as the 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year awardee seemed headed for rehab. But things have since taken a turn for the worse after images of the Grizzlies superstar with a stripper covered in money were recently leaked. However, a recent Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson analogy might end up being the saving grace for him. Such have been the recent developments with Ja Morant.

As the reports regarding the leaked images bring in another wave of flak from different circles, a former NBA star has come to Morant’s aid with a Charles Barkley and Magic Johnson analogy, issuing a stern reminder for the former players criticizing Ja.

Stephen Jackson’s strong reminder to ex-players amid Ja Morant leaked images scandal

According to a recent report, “[Ja Morant] shelled out at least $50,000 in cash tipsin a Colorado strip club. The report also shared contentious images of Ja Morant in the strip club. In the shocking images, it can be seen that the floor is full of money as a worker in the club gives Morant a lap-dance. Many celebrities have given their takes on the leaked images.

Recently, NBA veteran Stephen Jackson has shared his opinion on the matter via his Instagram handle. Jackson called out the NBA players from his generation saying that he does not want any star from his era to scrutinize Ja for the leaked images. He claimed that almost everyone from his era did things ten times worse than what Morant has done.

Jackson clarified that the only reason that players from his day didn’t attract any flak was because they didn’t have social media back then. He also provided a Magic Johnson-Charles Barkley example to explain the situation.

Charles Barkley was worried Morant could throw it all away

Charles Barkley recently talked about the Ja Morant situation during The Steam Room podcast with Ernie Johnson. The Philadelphia 76ers legend could not believe Ja’s actions. He noted that every player in the league is like his child and was worried the reigning MIP could throw away all his success because of his actions. The 1993 NBA MVP hoped Morant gets his act together. However, it will be interesting to see how he reacts to the leaked images.
