Talking about rappers and Hip-Hop of today, Shaq went on to rant about them. According to the former NBA champion and DJ, the entertainers of today sound the same.

Shaq said, “It sounds the same to me. I can remember growing up, going through those tapes, everyone sounds different, from fat boys to skinny boys to LL. To me, everybody sounds the same. I don’t wanna sound like I’m dissing but when I’m hearing people, I don’t even know who I’m listening to.

It is no surprise that Shaquille O’Neal still has a lot of love and respect for the previous generation of Hip-Hop. He grew up with legends like 2pac, Eminem, and others. Moreover, Shaq was a successful rapper back in the day as well.

Shaquille O’Neal once named his favorite rappers in a unique manner

While millions around the world might know Shaquille O’Neal for basketball, he is a successful rapper and DJ as well. His first album was released in 1993 and it was an instant hit.

Talking in an interview, the Los Angeles Lakers legend once named his favorite rappers. Interestingly enough, he named his favorite rappers and listed them as positions during a basketball game!

Shaq named Lil Wayne and Eminem on the Point Guard and Shooting Guard positions, respectively. He then named Jay Z as the Shooting Forward, 2Pac as the Power Forward, and the Notorious B.I.G as the Centre.

Shaquille O’Neal also has a record with the Notorious B.I.G. The song ‘You Can’t Stop The Reign’ was released in 1996 and it featured both Shaq and Biggie Smalls. Needless to say, the song did incredibly well on the charts as it featured two of the biggest superstars in music and sports during that time.
