However, King James came home again and led the Cavaliers to their only championship triumph in 2016. LeBron’s glorious second stint would not have become a reality without the solid backing of his peers. One such Cavaliers icon has recently become a popular topic in the hoops world. The former Cavalier recently weighed in on his medical condition and recounted an infamous episode from his Cleveland days.

Earl Joseph ‘JR’ Smith is known to have played by LeBron’s side, in both Cleveland and Los Angeles. The NBA veteran has recently caught the attention of the hoops world with the release of his documentary series. Besides, the 2x-NBA champion recently spoke at length about suffering dyslexia. Moreover, he also reminisced about the infamous ‘soup saga’ of 2018.

Growing up, J.R. Smith was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD. The 2x-NBA champion has candidly spoken about his condition in the recently released sports documentary- Redefined JR Smith. As the Prime Video docuseries have caught the attention of the hoops world, the former Cavalier has recently appeared in The Old Man and the Three podcast. Responding to the host’s questions about his documentary, Smith weighed in on his ailments.

“When I was in second and third grade, I remember standing up in front of the class, teacher picks on me. You got to read this sentence at the book and everybody’s looking, and you know, I was dyslexic and I had ADHD. So, for me the whole concept of sitting there and reading out loud was ridiculous and I was so intimidated,” said J.R. Smith.

J.R. Smith overcame this ailment suffered by four million people and achieved glory on the hardwood. Nonetheless, the Cavaliers legend has also garnered quite a lot of infamy. At the heart of Smith’s ill repute is his outspoken conduct. In the same episode of the podcast, LeBron’s ex-teammate has opened up about the infamous incident of him pouring soup over the Cavaliers’ then assistant coach Damon Jones.

Smith revealed that Damon Jones had the habit of playing around and pulling antics with his peers. J.R. Smith, on the other hand, did not always enjoy those playful gestures. Once, when Smith was sipping hot chicken tortilla soup, Damon Jones tried to have fun in vain. “I know you are playing with me and I am gonna show you. And I literally thought about it and I threw it on him. He is over there screaming, because the sh** is hot. I am like, see you want to stop playing,” said Smith, alluding to the infamous ‘soup saga’.
