He also mentioned that it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for him to be a part of something this big. Recently, on a podcast visit, Banchero shared a story about Michael Jordan that is very close to him.?

Banchero displayed a tremendous performance in his rookie season, which led big brands like Adidas to approach him. However, when Jordan stepped in, Banchero knew that he had found the right fit for him, stating that Jordans are sharp and stylish and suit him well.

Recently, Banchero appeared on the Player?s Tribune podcast. On being asked about how it feels to finally launch his own shoe, Banchero replied, “It’s a dream come true, like that’s all I can say. I mean…quick story, but before I even signed, when I was still deciding, it really came down to Jordan and Adidas as the final two. I remember I was at the airport, and Jamal Crawford, one of my big brothers, he calls me and he’s like, ‘P, how you been?’ Yeah…I hadn’t talked to him in a bit. I was like, ‘I’m good.’ He was like, ‘Man, you know who just called me?’ I was like, ‘Man, who?’ He was like, ‘Man, MJ.

Banchero continued, “‘He called me about you and he was like…first off, he don’t ever call me about really anything. Like, he don’t. It’s kind of hard to talk to him sometimes.’ He’s like, ‘But he called me asking about you and talking about how much he liked you, liked your game.’ He was like, ‘Man, you gotta sign with him.’ It’s a cold look. ‘MJ gonna take care of you. He’s family.’ And that did it for me. When he told me that…that’s all it took.”

For Paolo Banchero, signing with Jordan is a dream come true. The decision was initially between Jordan and Adidas, and it came down to a call from Michael Jordan himself. Hearing that Jordan called Jamal Crawford to express his interest in Banchero’s game and name made the decision easy.

He became the third player, after Michael Jordan and Zion Williamson, to score more than 20 points in their 20 out of 26 games. Banchero is evidently one of the best scorers in the league and has displayed his tremendous skills on the court consistently. His 31-point performance against the Boston Celtics is something he received significant praise for.
