In the current NBA, Ja Morant has established himself as a killer. The young Grizzlies All-Star is one of the best players in the game. Having that clutch gene, it isn’t rare to see Morant take over. However, a few days ago he made a statement that sent fans into a frenzy. Ja believes he could beat Michael Jordan in a game. But an NFL legend gave the 22-year-old no chance.

Jordan was a haunting figure during his time in the NBA. His Airness was scoring at will and his opponents had no answer. Moreover, he was a winner at the core. Since then, not many players have had the same animal inside. However, Ja is surely an exception. Having the same mindset, the Grizzlies All-Star wanted all the smoke. Even Jordan.

Ja had all the confidence in the world. However, Keyshawn Johnson feels Jordan would destroy the youngster.

Johnson has Michael Jordan winning

After Ja’s viral statement, Perkins and Keyshawn sat down to get some words in. As a former NBA player, Perkins loved the 22-year-olds confidence in his abilities. But even Perk thought his comments about “cooking” MJ were disrespectful. On the other hand, Keyshawn didn’t hold back anything. The NFL legend gave Ja no chance at all. He said Morant doesn’t have any chance at getting the best of Jordan.

Johnson said: “Ja going to be alright. He going to be around in this league for a very long time. All-Star games, maybe even a championship at some point of time. But him, me, you, everybody listening to us, we know he don’t have a chance in hell against Michael Jordan. First of all, he too small, let’s start there.”

Whether Morant could or couldn’t beat MJ is a different topic. However, what is great to see is the fire within Ja. Even when Michael Jordan entered the league, he wasn’t the best player. Magic and Larry Bird ran the NBA. But it was the unreal confidence that Jordan had in himself which pushed him to greatness. Similarly, Morant is cut from the same cloth. He has the ability to back himself and take the game by storm.

The Grizzlies guard has taken the first step in his journey to becoming an All-Star averaging 27 points per game. However, Ja is eyeing the biggest moments. And that is the only way Morant sees.
