Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas recently spoke on the unfortunate situations faced by some celebrities as a result of the drawbacks of the child support system. After being taken to the court by his former partner regarding child support dealings, Arenas has experienced the child support issues faced by stars first-hand. Recently, Gilbert Arenas addressed the ‘child support’ dilemma of a former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate of LeBron James.

In a recent interview on ‘VLAD TV’, Arenas was asked to give his take on the problems faced by male celebrities in the fields of entertainment and sports due to some discrepancies in the child support system. During the interview, DJ Vlad asked Arenas’ opinion on former Cavaliers star Tristan Thompson’s child support problems with his ex-partner. DJ Vlad asked Arenas, “Because remember the whole Tristan Thompson thing when he got the side chick pregnant and he was offering her money.”

Arenas stated, “When he’s done it’s off of income being made. So if he’s making zero, what happens is the interest that’s building. So if his interest is making forty thousand a month, your child support is this, anywhere from seven to fifteen percent of that forty thousand.”

Arenas advised Thompson to choose the move that made more sense in the long run. The NBA legend added, “You got to remember, making forty, fifty thousand to a $3500 $5000 drop f**ks your life up.” However, Arenas’ advice has come a little too late as a recent update on the whole situation has surfaced.

Tristan Thompson’s child support saga with personal trainer ends

Recent reports have suggested Tristan Thompson will allegedly have to pay his former fitness trainer Maralee Nichols child support of $9,500 per month. He will also cover a part of her judicial expenses.

Nichols will have sole custody of her one-year-old son Theo. However, Thompson would be allowed to make visitations. Nichols received a comparatively low sum as child support due to the NBA star’s absence from the league this season.
