The 2022-23 NBA season is close to a conclusion as the postseason knocks on the door. The teams are finally in the last phase of the regular season, trying to cement their playoff and play-in positions. However, one team has more problems to deal with before worrying about their postseason performance, the New Orleans Pelicans. The injury woes of the Pelicans’ young star, Zion Williamson, have continued throughout the season. However, a latest update on Williamson has caused a frenzy among fans on Twitter.

The 22-year-old Pelicans star’s talent has always remained unquestionable. However, since he became the #1 draft pick in 2019, Williamson’s career has been riddled with injuries. The recent bombshell update on his injury has caused many fans to swarm in and unapologetically express their opinions.

Throughout his four seasons in the NBA, Zion Williamson has been rated more than just a prospect for the league. According to a report on NBA.com, Williamson was the only player besides LeBron James and Luka Doncic to average 27 PPG before turning 21.?

However, since his arrival in the league, the youngster has been spotted limping off the court several times. In his rookie year in the league, the Pelicans star missed the first 44 games of the season due to a meniscus tear. Additionally, his absence through the entirety of last year due to a broken foot is still fresh in everyone’s minds.

The Pelicans star has played only one game in the entirety of 2023, on 2nd January. Since then, Williamson has been on the sidelines due to a hamstring problem. However, the New Orleans side has found newer things to worry about, as they gear up for the play-in tournament, which will commence on April 11th.

According to Shams Charania from The Athletic, Williamson will continue to sit on the sidelines as he’s been ruled out of the play-in tournament, where the Pelicans might be facing the Los Angeles Lakers, as things stand now.
