Players like NBA legend Dennis Rodman very rarely come around. Players who know and fulfill their role for the team. Giving their best efforts night in and night out instead of just focusing on scoring. Draymond Green could be argued as someone who comes close to Rodman’s game style. But it looks like the San Antonio Spurs might have lucked out in this aspect.

Jeremy Sochan is a rookie with the Spurs who has garnered comparisons with Rodman for more than his looks and jersey number. The Spurs picked up Sochan with the ninth overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft.

Sochan is a forward who is versatile enough to guard multiple positions, run the floor relentlessly, has good court vision, and can be categorized as a hustle player.

The Spurs may have a new version of Dennis Rodman

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich does not draft anyone without a reason. Coach Pop has an eye for picking up steals in the NBA draft. And so far this season, Jeremy Sochan has seemed like a good fit with the Spurs. His jersey number is 10, which was worn by Dennis Rodman during his time in San Antonio.

By the looks of it, Sochan may be rocking more than just Rodman’s jersey number. And no, it’s not his hair color but his unorthodox and notorious acts on the court. Memphis Grizzlies center Steven Adams shed some light on Sochan’s antics.

Even head coach Gregg Popovich mentioned in a post-game interview how he’s found a ‘lite’ version of Dennis Rodman. He gave props to Sochan for his ability to defend and rebound the ball.

Rodman too would just do things on the court that would get in a player’s head. Los Angeles Lakers legend James Worthy once mentioned that Rodman would squeeze his opponent’s butt just to throw him off his game.
