The Golden State Warriors were undermanned against the Washington Wizards. Their stars Klay Thompson, Jonathan Kuminga, Andre Iguodala, and James Wiseman sat out due to precautionary measures and injuries. However, they soared past the Washington Wizards, bagging their second win on the road. The Warriors teetered toward a 9-point victory after a sluggish start to the game. This was due to Stephen Curry and Jordan Poole’s magic. Contributions for the defending champions came from everyone on the lineup. Moreover, Draymond Green’s 17-point game stood out alongside Curry and Poole. As the Warriors bathed in this victory, there were moments in the game that gave NBA fans a reason to mock the Dubs.

During the fourth quarter, with 2 minutes left in the game, Curry passed the ball to Green. Looking at the gap ahead of him, Green attempted a layup. As he made his way to the basket, he jumped up high and drew a foul. Green went tumbling down, away from the court, and celebrated with the notion that he had made the shot. But in reality, the four-time champion had missed the basket. He punched the air and flexed his muscles. Green continued to celebrate while yelling out a few “come-ons” and “yeah let’s go”. As he made his way to the free-throw line, Green looked fired up. It took him more than 20 seconds to realize that he was celebrating for nothing as the shot hadn’t gone in. NBA Fans jumped to mock him for his overconfidence.

Stephen Curry leads the Warriors’ way

Despite this incident, NBA Fans couldn’t keep their eyes off Curry’s magic. The two-time MVP’s expertise made the Wizards arena feel like Chase Center as fans celebrated each of his shots. By the end of the game, the arena erupted with an MVP chant for the Warriors Veteran.
While the Warriors bagged the win, the Wizards made life difficult for them on the court. The Wizards’ 118 performance was led by Kristaps Porzingis’ 32 points and Monte Morris’ 17.
However, their efforts stood no chance as Curry and Poole were locked in especially in the last quarter. According to an ESPN report, Green stated that his team’s “late surge” in the second half was phenomenal. This eventually helped them win. He said, “At times, I thought we were doing a pretty good job and it wasn’t falling our way. They were hitting crazy shots. But we stuck with it.” With this win, the Warriors gear up for their visit to the White House.
