Russell Westbrook is one of the greatest point guards of our generation. He is undoubtedly one of the most athletic players this league has ever seen. Russ’s vertical and speed make him an explosive player, and he is a great passer as well. He is one of the most complete point guards ever, and he stuffs the stat sheet like it’s no one’s business.
So if you’ve been compared to Russell Westbrook, you obviously need to have a heck of a game, and Jalen Green may just have it. Green was the number 2 pick overall in the 2021 NBA draft and he has shined for the Houston Rockets.
Green is a shooting guard who has an explosive first step, and he uses his speed to get past defenders. He is an underrated passer and his ball-handling skills and athleticism make him a threat at half court. Green can also play off the ball and he is a great transition player.

Green is a very similar type of player to Westbrook. He may not be as athletic, but he does have that first step and speed like Russ. Jalen Green has had a great start to the year, and he is averaging 14.1 PPG playing 30 mins.

WNBA Star and NBA on TNT analyst Candace Parker said that Green reminded her a lot of Westbrook. When asked which rising star rookies stood out to her out, Parker said, ” You know, I think Jalen Green just in terms of the way he started the season. He played really well at the beginning of the season for Houston. He’s long, He’s wiry, He’s athletic. We’re gonna see, you know him, I think in the dunk contest,”
