The NBA MVP race this season is arguably always stacked with tough contenders, but one player has been continually making a strong argument for it this season. Luka Doncic has been blowing away his opponents lately, especially last night. With a staggering 60 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists, he set a new franchise record. It was a heartbreaking moment for the New York Knicks when Doncic made an incredible trick shot to force overtime in the dying seconds of the game, causing NBA Twitter to go into meltdown.

The final score read 126-121 to the Dallas Mavericks as they beat the Knicks. In regulation time, when the Mavs were down by 9 points with 33 seconds remaining, there were perhaps few hopes left.

Doncic then surprised everyone with his move by purposefully missing a free throw, and with just seconds remaining, he hit a jumper with the loose ball on the rebound and tied the game at 115 each. With such historic performances, Doncic could be in the lead for the MVP race at this moment.

As well as Doncic, other players also contributed greatly to the win, like Spender Dinwiddie, who made a three-pointer that brought Dallas back within 1 point, dropping 25 points on the night.
