The game between the Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls was nothing short of a nail-biter. Every second counted for both teams. One would have thought with the game ending to the last .5 seconds, that a team who was in the lead would win. However, it looks like the NBA world was left impressed by a sudden turn of events.

In the last few seconds, the Hawks did not resign to their fate. They alley-looped the ball to AJ Griffin who scored the game-winning point to take them to a 123-122 win. The Bulls were in the lead prior to this with the score at 122-121.

The insane game-winning point left the Bulls players visibly shocked and stunned. Fans online have also celebrated this win with many reactions. Some associated Griffin to be more skilled at clutch moments than Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. The Bulls have now lost 15 games so far this season.

Here are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:

Notably, this isn’t the first clutch moment that Griffin has come through for his team. The Hawks rookie had another game-winning finish about two weeks back against the Toronto Raptors. AJ Griffin has been proving that he is the go-to man for the Hawks.

Tonight, he finished with 17 points and 2 rebounds. His teammate, Trae Young also hit a clutch shot with 1 second left on the board. Young scored 19 points.

Griffin’s association with Curry comes from the fact that Stephen Curry has arguably been the league’s best clutch player in recent times. He has often been extremely resourceful in the last seconds of the game. With a lethal passing prowess, and a collected mindset to carry the team to a win, Stephen Curry and AJ Griffin could be in the same boat.

A lens on the Chicago Bulls doesn’t seem to justify the dynasty it once cherished. They currently sit in 11th on the Eastern Conference table with an 11-15 record so far. As for the Atlanta Hawks, however, they now find themselves in 6th place with a 14-13 record.
