James Harden is one of the most famous athletes and his off-court life looks as interesting as his professional life. The guard is buddies with a couple of rappers and is frequently spotted out on the town with them. Travis Scott is one of those well-known artists who has known the new Sixers guard for a long time. Travis hails from Houston himself hence, Harden has known him personally since his heydays with the Houston Rockets.

Interestingly, both being the close friends they are, have also balled out against each other. The former MVP hosted his second annual JH-Town Weekend, a three-day event, in 2018. Travis, who is well-known in the music industry for his flow, dazzled with his on-court abilities. The rapper was seen locking down Harden on one play, with the guard hitting the side of the rim.

Although Harden didn’t appear to be all that committed on this play, Travis played defense as if he wouldn’t get this chance again. The clip stole the show; however, the real “LaFlame” highlight came on a different play. Travis and Philadelphia’s Meek Mill had a “match up” at one point which ended with the former hitting a 3-pointer over Mill. Hilariously, Travis celebrated by giving him the finger. As he ran back after making the shot, the rapper gave that “undrafted player energy” vibe.

Other star players actively took part in the charity game as well. James Harden joined forces with Russell Westbrook for the first time since their OKC days. They shared the court with former Rockets Gerald Green and P. J. Tucker, as well as former Rocket Josh Smith. Travis Scott teamed up with DeMar DeRozan on the opposing team, which also included the Morris Twins and Tyreke Evans.

Bond between James Harden and Travis Scott

Harden has talked about his close friendship with Travis Scott. In an interview with Billboard back in 2019, the Beard was asked about his relationship with the fellow Houston star. He said “Over these last few years, we’ve grown a friendship, a friendship that’s grown pretty tight. We give each other confidence. We talk about how we can be better in our own class. It’s really grown to be a real brotherhood and a friendship. It’s pretty dope.”

Last year, Harden gifted Travis a jaw-dropping modified CACTI Jeep as a late birthday gift. The Beard also appeared in the official video for one of Travis’s songs, “Way Back.”

Harden is also friends with the rapper Lil Baby. The three were spotted partying after the Sixers were humiliated at home by the Brooklyn Nets in March. Harden struggled against his former team, shooting 3-17. For the same reason, the player faced a lot of social media trolling as well.
