The NBA superstars and legends that many fans have grown up watching are not that young anymore. It seems like only yesterday Michael Jordan was dunking on his opponents with his tongue hanging out, but he’s 60 years old now. Time does fly by and NBA legend Charles Barkley feels the same as age is catching up to his peers and himself. Although Barkley is physically sound and in pristine health, he recently extended his best wishes to one of his old friends from his college days.

Charles Barkley was a student at Auburn University, and being his college’s star player he was on the road a lot. Understandably, he made a few friends from teams from different universities. Recently, he extended his best wishes to one of those friends who is going through a bit of a health struggle.

Charles Barkley wishes good health to an old friend?

In a recent episode of NBA on TNT, Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley acknowledged the health issues that his old friend Leonard Mitchell is facing. Leonard Mitchell is a Louisiana State University legend and used to play college ball against Barkley in the 80s.

It’d be safe to assume that the duo were friends at the time. According to Barkley, Mitchell is undergoing some health issues and the 1993 MVP made sure that he extended his ‘get well soon’ wishes to him live on air.

Shoutout to Leonard Mitchell, LSU great. Best player I’ve played against in college,” said Barkley. He further added, “I know he’s having some health struggles. Leonard, I love you man. Imma give you a call soon, and get well soon

The 76ers legend was concerned about his long-time friend’s health, just like many other fans who know and love Mitchell and are praying for his speedy recovery. Chuck is known to love his friends deeply and a shoutout to Mitchell wasn’t something unexpected. Not just Mitchell, Barkley has been friends with a lot of athletes in the past, including the likes of Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan.

The 11-time All-Star is known to be extremely close with his friends, especially with those whom he has grown up with. One of the best examples would be the 76ers legend’s famous annual trip to Las Vegas with his best friends, which enticed him to beat the heck out of Patrick Mahomes recently.

It does sound like an amazing party, and many would itch to just get a glimpse of it.
