In the most desperate of times, the Los Angeles Lakers suffered the most severe blow. LeBron James was announced to be out indefinitely. Panic had set in among the Laker Nation. The 17-time NBA champions, who are stuck in a battle to make it to the playoffs, had to fight without the King. Only three days ago, however, some uplifting news made headlines. The four-time MVP resumed on-court activity sparking hopes once again. Now, as the signs of his return are getting more concrete by the minute, NBA fans seem to not care at all about the King’s return to his court.

LeBron James suffered his injury in the Purple and Gold’s heroic comeback win against the Dallas Mavericks. Only hours after the game, the Akron Hammer expressed his displeasure on social media. For a stretch of 13 games straight, the Lakers have played without their most accomplished superstar. ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported a timetable predicting the four-time NBA champion’s return in the final week of the regular season. But James quickly shut down the rumors and said he would be the one to tell the fans when he returns.

This was enough to shake up the entire league. The Los Angeles Lakers have hit a tune in their recent games. Over a 10-game stretch, the 2020 champions have won seven. Moreover, the new faces have rectified the previous worries. With the likes of Anthony Davis and Jared Vanderbilt, the Lakers rank as one of the best defenses in the league. In addition, D’Angelo Russell’s mature game has led to a different dynamic. Austin Reaves has also emerged as a huge impact maker, earning the starting role.

The group managed to do all this without LeBron James. While the rotations and game plans will change, injecting the NBA’s leading scorer could unleash the most lethal side of the Lakers. Laker Nation has all the reasons to celebrate, but some NBA fans are worried about what the future holds. Many had worrisome concerns and felt injuries could be a constant threat in James’ remaining time on the NBA court.

On the other hand some fans couldn’t keep in the excitement of James possibly returning tonight.
